Sergio Gusmão Suchodolski joins the Finance In Common Team

As FiCS Secretary General, Adama Mariko is delighted to announce the appointment of M. Sergio Gusmão Suchodolski as Special Envoy for the Finance in Common initiative.

Sergio has held senior positions in the public and private sectors, notably in New York, Brasilia and Geneva. He is currently a partner at VR Investimentos, a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center and a Senior Fellow at the Brazilian Center for International Relations, CEBRI.

Before that, he led as CEO of the Development Bank of São Paulo, Brazil; CEO of the Development Bank of Minas Gerais (BDMG), Brazil; and  Director General, Strategy and Partnerships, at the New Development Bank in Shanghai, China.

Sergio holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of São Paulo, a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, and a master’s degree in international Trade from Sciences Po – Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.

As Special Envoy, he will play a key role to support the FiCS initiative in its dialogue with a variety of stakeholders, from subnational actors to global fora, such as the G20 Presidency that is taking place this year under the leadership of Brazil. He will also advise on the design from the very first FiCS/G20 event, scheduled on 20-21 May in Rio de Janeiro, and advance the key takeaways from PDBs during the upcoming annual FiCS 2024 Summit.
