To support the implementation of its projects, the Financial Systems Division of AFD provides customized technical assistance to public financial institutions. This support is intended to help partner organizations achieve the objectives of the projects in alignment with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.

A specific Gender Facility has been developed to support organizations in the integration of gender and/or multidimensional inequalities and inclusion as a primary or significant targeted goal of a project funded by AFD. This facility can be used for:

• project preparation,
• identification of project pipeline, or
• support the implementation of projects.

The scope, budget, and objectives of the TA are jointly defined by the AFD operational team and the partner organization during the project appraisal phase. The TA is delivered by local and international experts and may be procured directly by the partner organization in compliance with AFD's procurement rules. In some cases, the AFD operational team may lead the procurement process.
