A new platform for energy transition finance: the FiCS Energy Transition Coalition
The Coalition is led by FiCS in partnership with the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) and the Instituto Clima e Sociedade (iCS). It brings together Public Development Banks and key stakeholders across the global financial architecture to align strategies, share expertise, and scale investment in clean energy and energy efficiency, while contributing to a reduction in the cost of capital.
Structured around three priorities — expanding energy access, mainstreaming energy efficiency and renewable energy, and advancing industry decarbonization — the Coalition supports coordinated action through country platforms, financial and technical innovation, South-South knowledge exchange, and improved data availability and transparency.
Following its announcement at COP, the FiCS Energy Transition Coalition is now moving into its implementation phase, with the establishment of its governance framework and thematic workstreams, and an open invitation for Public Development Banks and partners to engage in collective efforts to finance the global energy transition.
