Cooperation

Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and National Development Banks (NDBs) are already working to advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, more can be done.

A conference taking place on March 8th will provide a better understanding of this potential, that is, of Public Development Banks' potential to work as a coordinated and catalytic ecosystem of public finance for green and just transitions. Based on the concrete analysis of nine regional MDBs, the conference will discuss the potential for greater cooperation between MDBs and NDBs. What are the main barriers and prospective benefits? Whose responsibility is it to advance this cooperation? And why is it that so little is being done to track the SDGs systematically and using SDG17 (partnership) as a conveyor to bring it to its right operational level?
