G7 Progress report

The Adaptation & Resilience Investors Collaborative is a partnership of development finance organisations formed in 2020 to accelerate and scale up private investment in climate adaptation and resilience in developing economies. The Collaborative put forward an ambitious plan of actions to accelerate investments in adaptation and resilience. The plan received the endorsement of the G7 Foreign and Development Ministers in the May 2021 Communiqué. In June 2022, the Collaborative released a report outlining the progress made and activities planned ahead to move towards the achievement of its stated commitments. The report includes examples of initiatives launched by individual members to support the development of bankable pipeline of adaptation and resilience investments.

Examples of the Collaborative's progress includes:

  • Ongoing work to review existing and potential approaches for tracking and measuring the impact of adaptation finance
  • Ongoing work to develop standardised metrics for assessing impact, and development of guidance for physical climate risk identification, assessment, and management
  • Several Collaborative members have announced initiatives that focus on building a bankable pipeline of adaptation and resilience investment and on advancing support for public-private collaboration.
